Kristen Alix, RN, MS, APRN-BC, CVN,
CCRN Alumni
Kristen
has been a nurse in this practice since 1997. She was recruited by
the physicians after working with her at the Presbyterian St. Lukes
Adult Intensive Care Unit. She continued her work in the ICU and the
Interventional Radiology suite for five years after joining the
practice. She is well acquainted with patients in these areas, and
in the hospital because of these experiences. Also, she has worked
in the Surgical Trauma Unit at Denver Health.
She believes that education is a large part of her responsibility as
a practitioner. Her undergraduate degree was obtained from Marquette
University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from University of
Colorado Health Sciences with her Masters Degree in 2003. She is
board certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Cardiovascular
Nurse, and has been certified in Critical Care Nursing.
She gives back to the nursing community by teaching new nursing
graduates at Presbyterian St. Lukes on vascular disease. She
believes that family and patient education is essential in this
practice and strives to be available for questions that arise.
Her interests outside of work include the care of her two young
boys, her Newfoundland dogs, playing tennis, and telemark skiing.
The best thing about Kristen is after ten years, she still loves her
job. |
